We created IntelligentX, the world’s first beer brewed by artificial intelligence to show the world what can be achieved with data.

The reason for creating it was simple: we wanted to use data in a smarter, more strategic way. With IntelligentX, customer preference data is at the heart of the product and brand.

Our machine learning algorithm uses customer feedback data, which is provided via a Facebook Messenger bot, to tell our master brewer what to brew next. This ensures each new version is more finely tuned to customers’ tastes. The bot also gives us a direct relationship with our customers, so we know who they are and what they want.

Since launching in July 2016, IntelligentX has seen incredible demand from consumers, generating over 350 items of media coverage (e.g. Wired, Bloomberg, Time) and has been voted one of the greatest software innovations of the year by Popular Science Magazine, ahead of Whatsapp and Snapchat.

It has been so successful we’ve now spun it out into a separate business and are quickly expanding into international markets.
